State Quota vs AIQ — Which to Choose?

You can register for both — they don't conflict. Most candidates do.

  • Choose State Quota when: you want lowest fees in your home state, are open to bond service, prefer to stay near family.
  • Choose AIQ when: you want to study in a different state's central institutes (AIIMS / PGI / JIPMER), or your domicile state has limited seats in your target specialty.
  • Best practice: attempt both, lock choices in both. Decline whichever you don't take after Round 1 announcements.
